Services
Step 1: Initial Consultation & Concept Design
$950 | 3–4 hours on site
I offer tailored design consultations to help you envision your ideal permaculture setup. Our team works closely with you to understand your needs and the unique aspects of your property. With an emphasis on sustainability, we create designs that harmonize with nature and promote biodiversity.
It begins with an in-depth visit to your property. This is about understanding you, your land, and what you’re hoping to create.
During the visit we:
- Talk through your goals, needs, and vision
- Walk the land together, observing soils, water flow, aspect, existing plants, and key features.
- Explore ideas, options, and possible outcomes for your space
- After the visit, I develop a Conceptual Design, which you’ll receive within five days.
This includes:
- An A3 colour PDF design over an aerial image of your property
- A written explanation of each major design element and its purpose
This is a big-picture design — it lays the foundations and explores what’s possible, without going into construction-level detail yet.
Once it’s ready, we review it together and talk through next steps.
Step 2: Planning & Detailed Design
(If You Choose to Proceed)
$75 per hour
If you’d like to install the design (or parts of it), I move into more detailed planning. This stage turns the concept into a clear, practical implementation plan and quote.
- Simple projects (e.g. a vegetable garden or straightforward food forest): ~3–7 hours
- Larger or integrated systems (food forest + veg garden, composting, worm systems, etc.): ~5–20 hours
This work covers:
- Really nutting out all the fine details of the installation.
- Spacing, sizes, distances. How everything integrates and works together.
- Planning the order of works so installation runs smoothly.
Once this is complete, I can give you a much clearer idea of costs, timing, and how the build will unfold, which we’ll discuss before any on-ground work begins.
Step 3: Installation
$75 per hour
The installation support ensures that your permaculture ideas become a reality so you won’t have to worry about the logistics. I’ll be there every step of the way, providing hands-on help to bring your vision to life and connect you to the land.
I carry out the installation myself and generally take on one project at a time, so your job gets my full focus from start to finish.
As a rough guide:
- Vegetable garden (approx. 16m x 5m, irrigated, planted, mulched): $5,000 – $7,000
- Food forest (approx. 16m x 16m, irrigated and mulched): $10,000 – $12,000
Final costs depend on site conditions, access, materials, and complexity, and are discussed clearly before work begins.
